Whether it’s mountain biking, climbing, hiking, ski touring, skiing, swimming, golfing, etc. etc., the Gailtal Valley is a dream destination for all kinds of athletes. There are endless possibilities for you to live your sport. In summer, it’s that unique mountain/lake experience – taking the bike up to the pasture in the morning, then going by foot to the summit

– or perhaps a mountain walk or even a via ferrata? In winter, it’s just a short trip from the apartment to the piste or cross-country skiing in the valley, ice skating on the famous Lake Weissensee or snowshoeing through snow-covered forests – (almost) anything is possible!

Racing cyclists look forward to steep climbs and rapid descents, pushing past personal and country borders. A trip to Italy and back again? You can do it from nawu’s front door. Long-distance swimming? We have Lake Pressegger See and Lake Weissensee right here in the Gailtal Valley. Fresh via ferratas combined with dreamy alpine hikes? Let’s go to Nassfeld or the Plöcken Pass!

So close to the heavens
What else can you do in the Gailtal Valley? Paragliding! There’s even a relatively unknown Eldorado paraglide here. Breathtaking launch sites that aren’t overcrowded are just a short walk away. You can also land near to the hotel. We also have flying experience as a nawu family. We can give you valuable tips, take-off and landing site information. If you are drawn to the scene, Emberger Alm, Lienz and Gerlitze am Ossiachersee are just a stone’s throw away.

Back at nawu apartments, you will find the relaxation you need. Here you can kick back, take in the view, and enjoy a well-rested and deep sleep thanks to the clear mountain air to make sure that you are ready to go off on your adventures again the following day. Speaking of which, have you already heard about our in-house sports field? It’s made for tennis, football, volleyball, handball and much more.
